Naked Aglianico with five weeks of skin contact. Aged in amphora and concrete for three years.
Ognostro needs twenty-four hours of decanting prior to enjoying.
Marco Tinessa commissioned Frank Cornelissen years ago to assist him in making a naked Taurasi. Fewer than one thousand bottles were the initial production, but that has now shot up to six thousand.
His first vintage was 2007 with Aglianico and in 2018, he added Fiano to his portfolio. Initially, after the wines were harvested, they were shipped to Cornelissen’s winery on Etna. Now, the grapes are delivered to his home in Milan where wines are made in his garage. The second floor is his design studio and the top floor is his apartment. He flies about six times a year to Irpinia to check on his vines during crucial moments. With spontaneous fermentation using natural Milanese yeasts and Campanian grapes, a new type of winemaker was born. His wines are both aged in concrete fibreglass or steel tank.
